This program is designed to promote amateur radio to the masses, helping to eliminate a possible barrier to entry by providing new hams with everything they'll need to get on the air at a very reasonable price. Jumpstart Packages will be provided to new hams who meet eligibility requirements.
The package currently includes:
- The QRZ-1, a brand-new, entry-level, dual-band ham radio transceiver that has been custom manufactured for QRZ and GigaParts
- Specialized programming software from RT Systems
- Coupons from the program's sponsors to help you get started in the hobby
- An automatically enabled 30-day QRZ subscription
Program Requirements:
All applicants
- Must hold an individual Amateur Radio License issued by the FCC
- Must be newly Licensed within the last 6 months
- Must have an active QRZ User Account
- Must submit an application via QRZ.com
- Must provide a photo of a government issued Photo Identification card
- Must attest that he or she meets the above criteria when submitting an application
